Restaurants are new to the Richardson market

RICHARDSON, Texas – (July 7, 2015) – KDC, one of America’s leading commercial real estate development and investment firms, today announced three new restaurant additions to the growing list of tenants slated to open at CityLine, the company’s 186-acre mixed-use project in Richardson, Texas. The restaurants, all new to the Richardson market, include: Fernando’s Mexican Cuisine, Fresh To Order, and Tricky Fish.

“CityLine’s restaurant lineup has really taken off the past couple of months, and we are already 90 percent leased in phase one of the project,” said Colin Fitzgibbons, vice president of KDC. “We want to provide the thousands of office tenants, residents and visitors with plenty of quality dining choices to fit their varying tastes and lifestyles. These new restaurants round out our roster of dining options as we move into phase two of our development.”

Fernando’s Mexican Cuisine offers upscale Tex-Mex dining with the continental influence of Mexico City. Menu items include fajitas served sizzling from the grill, classic taco and enchilada plates, and regional dishes of Mexico such as Tacos de Pescado and Pollo con Mole Poblano. Dishes prepared with only the freshest ingredients are served by a professional and attentive staff. Patrons can enjoy weekday lunch and happy hour specials, patio dining, brunch, and dinner, as well as to-go and catering services.

“We are very excited to bring this authentic local restaurant to CityLine,” said Steve Van Amburgh, CEO of KDC. “Fernando Padilla has been my friend for many years and I’m thrilled that his restaurant will be part of the CityLine dining lineup.”

This will be the third Fernando’s location in the Dallas area, where the restaurant originated. The first location opened in Preston Hollow in 2005 and the second in Uptown Dallas on Travis Walk in 2011.

“I am fortunate to have had Fernando’s as a Tex-Mex staple in the Dallas community for over ten years,” said Fernando’s founder and namesake Fernando Padilla. “As our restaurant expands to Richardson, we will be in great company with the other nearby dining options that CityLine has to offer.”

The 5,115-square-foot Fernando’s is scheduled to open in February 2016. It will be located in ground floor of the 532-unit apartment building developed by JLB at 1250 State Street.

Owned and developed by Razzoo’s, Tricky Fish is a polished-casual, southern seafood restaurant where guests can choose to order at the counter and seat themselves, or sit in the full-service bar area and have a more traditional dining experience.

“We chose CityLine for its vibrant, urban setting. The local businesses will bring strong lunch crowds, and the restaurant tenant mix and apartment community will make for an exciting dinner environment,” said Chris Degan, president of Tricky Fish. “I see CityLine as the go-to place for dining and entertainment in that area for years to come and exactly the kind of setting we wanted as a launch for Tricky Fish.”

Menu items include a daily selection of fresh seafood dishes, entrée salads and sandwiches, including Po’boys and Muffaletta. The signature dessert will be a peach ice cream sundae topped with caramelized bread pudding croutons and a dark rum sauce. A full bar will serve 12 regional craft beers on tap, wines by the glass and featured cocktails. Daily happy hour specials can be enjoyed on the patio with sliding doors to make the restaurant part of the pedestrian experience.

The 3,800-square-foot Tricky Fish location is scheduled to open in late fall 2015. It will be located in the ground floor of Three CityLine at 1251 State Street.

CityLine will be the first of 10 to 15 units projected for Dallas by Atlanta-based Fresh To Order restaurants, which serve a fine dining quality of food in a contemporary environment, within ten minutes for about $10. Fresh To Order was among the first fast casual concepts to take fresh proteins, add a proprietary culinary twist, and then fire-grill dishes in front of guests.

The award-winning concept focuses on healthier, flavorful menu items like almond crusted seared tuna, chicken wild mushroom, “Better For You Burgers” with bison, salmon and tuna, as well as made-from scratch soups and paninis. Recently recognized by Fast Casual magazine as a Top 50 Brand, Fresh To Order has also received the prestigious Hot Concepts Award and named a Breakout Brand by Nations Restaurant News.

“Fresh To Order’s fast-fine concept caters to consumer demand for nutritious food without compromising flavor or breaking the bank,” said founder and CEO Pierre Panos. “Launching the first of many Fresh To Order restaurants in the state of Texas at CityLine was a thoughtful and significant decision, and we’re looking forward to getting started.”

The 3,200-square foot Fresh to Order location is scheduled to open in the spring of 2016. It will be located in the ground floor the JLB apartment building, next to Fernando’s, on the southwest corner of State Street and Plano Road.
