RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N. C. (July 11, 2019) – KDC, a leading developer of corporate build-to-suit campus projects for major companies such as State Farm and Toyota, completed construction on the expansion of Credit Suisse’s new sustainable, smart working facility in Research Triangle Park in North Carolina.
The state-of-the-art facility which expands the current Credit Suisse Raleigh campus, creates a unique experience featuring thin client technology, videoconferencing facilities, smart working capabilities, an auditorium and security technology. The 205,000-square-foot, four-story building is located on a 62-acre site designed for collaboration and recreation.
This expansion was built with the environment in mind, utilizing reclaimed water, solar power and energy-saving lighting and mechanical systems. The expansion will house 1,200 new jobs in areas such as IT, finance and other corporate roles. It is set to become one of approximately 25 LEED-certified projects in Research Triangle Park with a gold certification.
“The completion of the sustainable, cutting-edge facility provides a unique employee experience and focuses on the environment,” said Larry Wilson, division president, KDC. “To compete in today’s market, companies are looking to provide heavily amenitized workplaces which create a home for their employees. Credit Suisse’s vision was to provide a state-of-the-art facility for employees, and we are thrilled to have been the developer on this project.”
The new facility is adjacent to the existing Credit Suisse office building KDC developed in 2007. With this expansion complete, renovation of the on-site existing building will begin.
Additional features include a health center, a fitness center with running trails, a terrace green, a food service cafeteria, Grab & Go Stations, IT cafés and a technologically advanced conference center. The new building and the renovation project will embrace Credit Suisse’s Global Workforce Guidelines for smart working and global smart building strategy.
Gensler is the project architect and Brasfield & Gorrie is the general contractor. Ballentine is the civil engineer and Crenshaw is the mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineer.
KDC is developing a corporate headquarters for Sammons Financial Group in West Des Moines, Iowa and Pioneer Natural Resources in Irving, Texas. The company recently completed headquarter projects for Frost Tower in San Antonio and Independent Bank in McKinney, Texas.
