03/23/21 | Press Release
MCKINNEY, Texas – (March 18, 2021) – KDC, a leading developer of corporate build-to-suit campus projects for major companies such as JPMorgan Chase, State Farm and Toyota North America, has completed the North Texas Family Health Foundation’s Family Health Center on Virginia Parkway in McKinney, Texas.
The new 25,000-square-foot facility expands primary medical, dental, and behavioral healthcare to local families, children and those individuals who need it most. The state-of-the art facility represents a signature element of The North Texas Family Health Foundation’s commitment to providing patient-centered care in a welcoming and dignified setting.
“KDC believes in giving back to the local community by doing what we do best – developing buildings. We don’t take our commitment of helping local nonprofits build new facilities to better serve their clients lightly, and the Family Health Center on Virginia Parkway is a perfect example of this commitment,” said Steve Van Amburgh, CEO of KDC. “This new clinic will greatly increase the access McKinney-area families and others have to vital health care.”
The new Family Health Center on Virginia will offer a plethora of healthcare services, including pediatrics, family medicine, behavioral health counseling, and obstetrics and gynecology, as well as dental cleanings, exams, extractions, X-rays and specialist referrals. The new clinic will also offer health education and community outreach, along with linking patients to critical basic resources such as social services, transportation and nutritious food. Subject to federal and state requirements and approvals, Family Health Center on Virginia is slated to start serving its medical and behavioral health patients from the new facility in the spring of 2021. In the interim, primary care medical services are being provided at Women’s Health Center of McKinney located at 4510 Medical Center Drive, Suite 201, and behavioral health patients are being scheduled through telemedicine appointments.
“Our mission is to serve the vulnerable,” says Allen Patterson, CEO for the Family Health Center. “The Family Health Center will provide access to medical care for those who need it most, as well as connect patients to valuable resources within the community. We also welcome Medicare, Medicaid, CHIP and most insurances.”
KDC worked with several local industry partners to complete the clinic, with many donating their services below cost for the clinic. This includes architects from MASS Design Group, SmithGroup, Corgan (Interiors), WRG/Herman Miller (furniture & fixtures), and Kimley-Horn, as well as the expertise of teams from Rogers-O’Brien Construction, Cross Engineering Consultants and L.A. Fuess Partners. Independent Financial (NASDAQ: IBTX), a relationship-driven financial services company headquartered in McKinney, served as a lead project donor, contributing more than $2.5 million in funding.
