KDC PARTNERS WITH SOUTHSTAR AND CHARTWELL HOSPITALITY TO DEVELOP 750,000 SF OF OFFICE SPACE AT THE AUREUM MIXED-USE DEVELOPMENT IN FRANKLIN

FRANKLIN, Tenn. – (June 12, 2019) – KDC, a leading developer of corporate build-to-suit campus projects for major companies such as State Farm and Toyota, announced today it is partnering with SouthStar and Chartwell Hospitality to develop office space at the Aureum mixed-use development in the Cool Springs area of Franklin.

Aureum is a 22-acre mixed-use development that will include 100,000 square feet of retail developed by SouthStar, three hotels with a total of 700 rooms by Chartwell Hospitality and 480 residential units developed by SouthStar and Chartwell Hospitality. The office component will accommodate 750,000 square feet of space and will be located at the southwest corner of East McEwen Drive and Carothers Parkway of Cool Springs in Franklin.

“Aureum sits at the bullseye of what will be the densest and busiest intersection in Williamson County and predicted to be one of the busiest in the state, making it the premiere location for a project of this type,” said Glenn Wilson, CEO of SouthStar. “We are excited to partner with KDC, a developer who brings years of experience in creating major office developments within mixed-use projects, along with a proven record of securing large corporate tenants.”

Aureum (Latin for golden) is being designed as a pedestrian-friendly district, complete with plazas, boutique parks and interconnecting walkways throughout. The intentionality of this design uniquely positions Aureum as the area’s most inviting destination for resident professionals, families and out-of-town visitors.

Construction on Aureum is slated to begin in the first quarter of 2020.
