IRVING, TX (July 11, 2024) - Developer KDC and the University of Dallas (UD) received approval tonight from the Irving City Council on an application to rezone land near its main campus and pave the way for KDC and UD to partner in the development of a much-anticipated data center campus. The growing use of big data and artificial intelligence continues to increase data center demand.

“KDC has developed over a dozen significant data center projects over our 35-year company history,” said Steve Van Amburgh, KDC CEO. “We are thrilled to partner with the University of Dallas to transform their site into a world-class data center campus.”

"Located north of State Highway 114 at Braniff Drive, the site is an infill location at the mobility crossroads of Dallas-Fort Worth with direct access to multiple major highways, DFW Airport and Love Field,” said Eric Hage, KDC executive vice president. “Importantly, KDC has confirmed with Oncor that surrounding transmission lines were recently upgraded to offer data center users hyper-scale level power capacity. Those factors, combined with extensive access to fiber, make for a unique and exceptional data center campus."

The project is currently in the design phase, with Corgan leading the design team with key members Telios, as MEP engineer; Kimley-Horn, as civil engineer. The completion date is anticipated for early 2027.

KDC has developed numerous data centers across the country and 4.8 million square feet of commercial projects in the City of Irving.
