At KDC, we are proud to use our development expertise to support local nonprofit organizations continue down a path of success. Our CEO Steve Van Amburgh recently rallied together with construction industry partners to complete the build-out of OurCalling, a women’s-only shelter. The group of dedicated CRE companies saved OurCalling significant dollars through donated labor and services, along with materials offered at cost. The new 16,000-square-foot drop-in homeless shelter near downtown Dallas provides women a secure environment with everything from private showers, laundry, and counseling, to crucial psychological, domestic abuse, sex trafficking, addiction and exit strategy services. 

Steve attended the recent dedication of the new shelter and shared what it means for him and KDC to be part of this project. “It has been a true honor to work with my industry colleagues and help Pastor Wayne fulfill a mission of helping some of the most vulnerable members of our community,” said KDC CEO Steve Van Amburgh.
