Debbie Countryman

Administrative Assistant / Design & Construction

  • 27 years of experience
  • 9 years at KDC

If Debbie Countryman could pick only one word to describe herself, she’d choose grateful. She’s grateful for her faith, her family, her job, and her work family at KDC.

“I’m very blessed, and I know it,” Debbie says.

Debbie joined KDC’s Design & Construction department as an Administrative Assistant in 2015. Before KDC, she spent nine years in financial services with BB&T Scott & Stringfellow where she worked for the company’s President & CEO. She has more than 20 years of experience as an Executive Assistant.

In her current role at KDC, Debbie’s responsibilities include general administrative support, monthly draw invoice coordination, monthly status reporting with video production, monitoring material testing reports, site visit coordination, and presentation support.

“I try to be the person who takes the pressure off my team,” Debbie says. “I’m willing to do whatever it takes to help them be successful. Ultimately, my goal is to make my team look good.”

Currently, Debbie is assigned to the JP Morgan Chase project. She previously assisted with the Toyota, Pioneer Natural Resources, and Richardson Data Center projects.

“One of the things I like best about my job is that I get to meet so many new people while working with my team,” Debbie notes.

Everyone has a different personality, and I like getting to know each person for who they are and determine how I can work best with them.

Originally from Maine, Debbie lived in Virginia before relocating to Texas. She landed the job at KDC just two weeks later through networking.

Debbie and her husband, Richard (Dick), are newly married. They’re involved in a church ministry for children called Cornerstone Kids. Every Saturday, the couple spends a few hours with a group of children, playing outdoors, doing crafts, teaching Bible stories, and providing lunch.

Debbie and Dick also like to take long walks together and discuss books they’ve read, kind of like a mini book club. And when she’s not enjoying time with Dick, Debbie likes handcrafts, refurbishing furniture, crochet, and sewing.

Debbie has three children and two grandchildren. Her oldest son is a Chief Petty Officer in the Navy and stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii. Her daughter works for everyone’s favorite fast-food chain, Chick-Fil-A, as an Assistant Director, and her youngest son works as a Solar Performance Engineer at McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. in Phoenix, AZ.
