Tracey Hatcher has serious people skills. “If you put me in a room with a group of people, I can get them to play well together to accomplish what needs to be done,” she says.
For over 25 years, Tracey has brought people together to create the best corporate environments. She’s worked with a number of Fortune 500 companies including The Coca-Cola Company, Merrill Lynch and Bank of America.
In her position as vice president with KDC, she leads tenant improvement and design efforts for southeast-based construction projects including both office and retail. She works with corporate clients to develop interior design/programming and design solutions through to 100% construction drawings and manages the entire construction process, as well as furniture installations and workforce moves. On a daily basis, she’s juggling budgets, schedules, designers, contractors, while ensuring project safety and quality.

Tracey began her career with an Atlanta-based interior design firm, serving as a liaison between her firm and its corporate client, The Coca-Cola Company, for a full demo and renovation of a seven-story office building. When The Coca-Cola Company asked her to join its in-house facilities group, it launched her career in corporate services.
“My role has always been to take corporate directives and apply them in ways that work best for individuals,” Tracey says. “I balance the creativity of the design team with the corporation’s objectives.”
A native Georgian, Tracey was excited to move back to her home state to work for KDC. “This was a change for me since I had never worked directly for a developer,” she says. “But my experience is appealing to KDC’s corporate clients.”
Tracey enjoys being part of the KDC team. “It’s refreshing to work for an organization that values my opinion,” she says. “Everything I do matters. It’s rewarding to feel valued and part of the process.”
Even as a pre-teen, Tracey was interested in design. “I come from a creative and design-oriented background,” she says, noting that her immediate family includes an architect, a contractor, and an artist. She attended The Atlanta College of Art and obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts in interior design.
When Tracey isn’t supervising interior design projects, she’s spending time with her husband, Mark, and teenage daughter, Erin. “Family and faith is number one for me,” she says.
The Hatcher family loves to explore new places. Prior to making a visit, they research the restaurants featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives so they can experience the best local food.
“There’s not a place I wouldn’t go,” she says. “Growing up in a small town in a family that didn’t travel a lot, I was always the adventurous one.”
