KDC EXPANDS ITS PRESENCE IN TEXAS WITH HOUSTON OFFICE OPENING

Houston Native William Peeples to lead KDC office

HOUSTON – Dec. 5. 2013 – KDC, one of America’s leading commercial real estate development and investment companies, is continuing to expand its presence in Texas by opening an office in Houston, Texas. Houston native William Peeples will oversee all development and investment opportunities in Houston.

Peeples has spent two years focusing on Houston development opportunities from KDC’s Dallas office. His relocation to Houston will allow Peeples to establish a permanent presence for KDC in that market. KDC’s new Houston office is located at 1900 West Loop South, Suite 1175 in the Galleria area.

“Real estate is a people-centered business that is about strong relationships,” said Steve Van Amburgh, CEO of KDC. “William has been a great asset for our Houston efforts because of his strong association with the area brokers and decision-makers. Having him there 24/7 will allow us to better serve our clients, which is our first priority.”

“I consider it a great honor and privilege to lead KDC’s expansion into the Houston market,” said Peeples. “Houston is a dynamic city with a deep roster of very capable and competitive developers, and we’re excited to join the ranks. We’ve already experienced a number of successes in the market and are eager to continue growing our presence.”

KDC’s experience in Houston includes developing the 160,000-square-foot Intellicenter in Westway Park which was leased to Travelers; Ellington Trade Center, a three-building, 500,000-square-foot industrial project; and two data centers for Digital Realty Trust totaling 112,500 square feet in the Greenspoint submarket.

Prior to joining KDC in 2011, Peeples was a commercial real estate lender with Amegy Bank in both Houston and Dallas. Peeples serves as a member of the Associate Council of the Real Estate Finance and Investment Center (REFIC) at the University of Texas. He holds an M.B.A. from the University Of Texas McCombs School Of Business with a focus on Real Estate and Private Equity Finance and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, also from the University of Texas.

In 2012, KDC opened an Austin office. The company’s largest project currently in development is CityLine, a 186-acre, $1.5 billion master-planned project in Richardson, Texas. State Farm is leasing 1.5 million square feet in three towers at the development.

KDC has completed more than 125 corporate build-to-suit office and industrial projects valued at more than $3.5 billion and totaling more than 27 million square feet. Clients include State Farm Insurance, Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Citigroup, EDS, FedEx, Fluor Corp., Intuit, Invesco, Nokia, Prudential, Rent-A-Center, Omnicom, Sally Beauty, and other leading corporations.
