KDC TO DEVELOP TRANSIT-ORIENTED DEVELOPMENT IN DUNWOODY, GEORGIA

State Farm to lease 585,000 square feet of office space at the development

DUNWOODY, Georgia – February 14, 2014 – KDC today announced plans for a 17-acre site in the Perimeter Center area of Dunwoody, Georgia. State Farm is leasing 585,000 square feet of office space and plans to add additional buildings over the next decade.

KDC’s first office building, to be leased by State Farm, will be constructed on a nearly 4-acre site at Hammond Drive and Perimeter Center Parkway and will connect to the Dunwoody MARTA station. KDC plans to begin construction on the first building in summer 2014.

“KDC is excited to continue our relationship with State Farm through the creation of a transit-oriented development in Dunwoody,” said Larry Wilson, KDC. “This project will provide State Farm’s work force a continued platform for success with direct access to a true live-work-play environment and a MARTA station.”

KDC’s transit-oriented development will include 2.2 million square feet of office space, 100,000 square feet of retail, restaurants and entertainment, and a 200-room select service hotel.

“We are excited to be considering an expansion in the Dunwoody community as we position State Farm to better serve communities across the US,” said Mary Crego, senior vice president, State Farm. “This expansion positions State Farm for the future as we grow to meet changing customer needs and expectations.”

State Farm has identified the Atlanta metropolitan area as a hub city where a number of employees will work collectively across several functions to serve customers. These functions will be staffed by a combination of new hires and existing employees. State Farm currently employs nearly 5,000 people in the Atlanta metro area. In the coming years, State Farm will have approximately 8,000 employees in the Atlanta metro area.
