04/26/17
One-million-square-foot corporate campus will be home to 6,000 employees
PLANO, Texas – (April 26, 2017) – KDC today celebrated the topping out of JPMorgan Chase & Co.’s new one-million-square-foot corporate campus at Legacy West.
“JPMorgan Chase is an incredibly important piece of the equation at Legacy West,” said Toby Grove, president, KDC. “This is the initial phase of a project that helps round out the corporate-anchored portion of Legacy West that we believe will help JPMorgan Chase achieve their goal of providing a collaborative, engaged, and interactive campus for its employees in an amenity-rich setting.”
JPMorgan Chase purchased 50 acres within the Legacy West development to build a multiple-building campus, which includes 49 acres at Headquarters Drive and Communications Parkway, as well as a one-acre parcel at the corner of Communications Parkway and Legacy Drive. Construction on the campus began in the first half of 2016.
“JPMorgan Chase is committed to the DFW market, and this major investment positions North Texas to be a vital – and growing – hub for our company,” said Steve Hemperly, managing director, consumer and community banking, JPMorgan Chase. “Our new campus will make it easier for our employees to provide outstanding service and solutions to clients around the world. It will also reduce the company’s real estate operating costs in the DFW market, savings we’ll reinvest in our strategic campuses to provide the facilities, work environment, and accommodations our employees need and deserve.”
Designed by HKS, the campus will include multiple mid-rise buildings and parking garages connected by landscaped, open areas and water features. Amenities will include training and conference space, food court, dining area and coffee shop, health and wellness center, back-up childcare, and state-of-the-art technology and telepresence capabilities. The campus also features an internal Chase branch for employees, along with a freestanding, two-story flagship Chase bank branch at the corner of Communications Parkway and Legacy Drive.
The first employees are expected to begin moving in during the second half of 2017, continuing through 2018 and 2019. About 6,000 employees, approximately half of Chase’s employment in DFW, will work at the new corporate center, focusing on serving consumer and business customers.
HKS is the project architect and Beck Group is the general contractor.
