OPEN FOR BUSINESS: THE NEW WELLS FARGO LAS COLINAS CAMPUS
11/21/25 | KDC Announcements
Wells Fargo’s two-building, 850,000-square-foot regional headquarters campus broke ground in April 2023 a mere 30 months later, on October 22, 2025, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to celebrate the opening of their timeless, sustainable and organic regional campus. Notable VIPs were in attendance, including Texas Governor Greg Abbott and the Chairman and CEO of Wells Fargo, Charlie Sharf as well as television host and producer of Dirty Jobs, Mike Rowe.
Wells Fargo consolidated its 14 Metroplex locations onto the 22-acre campus in Irving, TX’s mixed-use Las Colinas district. The campus is fully occupied at this point and employees are hard at work in this exemplary, net positive, LEED Platinum and sustainably sound facility, replete with amenities including a state-of-the-art fitness center.
Support for Sustainability
With this build, KDC, Wells Fargo, and architect Corgan went beyond a net-zero approach, believing that a net-positive approach was the right way forward for the institution’s goal of reducing climate change-related hazards.
The net-positive strategy used means that 11,000 photovoltaic rooftop and parking garage panels generate 5.2 megawatts (AC) of energy per year, representing 5% more power than needed.
Additional green features include:
- Regionally sourced interior and exterior materials that reduced transportation emissions.
- SageGlass-glazed windows with four tint levels to reduce heat gain and maximize natural daylight.
- Outdoor high-energy chilling systems that improve overall HVAC performance by 35%.
- The nearby Lake Carolyn as a source for irrigation of low-water-use plants and landscaping.
- The use of graywater with low-flow interior fixtures to reduce water usage.
- Drought resistant, native Texan plantings that reduce the heat island effect typically associated with hardscape-surrounded large buildings.
- On-site electric vehicle charging stations to help reduce vehicle emissions.
- Biophilic elements woven throughout the entire campus that connect employees with nature.
- Kitchen and servery appliances that run on electricity, reducing indoor air contaminants while eliminating direct fossil fuel emissions.
Thanks to these and other factors, the campus is on track to achieve LEED Platinum certification.
A Boost in Employee Well-Being
The regional headquarters also keeps employee well-being at the forefront. Open plans feature floor-to-ceiling windows that provide an abundance of daylight and sweeping views. Employees can access numerous socialization areas that facilitate collaboration, while focus rooms offer privacy for independent activities and contemplation.
The Wells Fargo staff can also take advantage of:
- Spacious cooking and servery area with a 360-degree open-plan concept
- A large café providing nutritional food
- A grab-and-go market for quick meals
- Coffee bars and adjacent seating lounges on each floor
- A state-of-the-art training and fitness center with locker rooms and showers
- An outdoor covered dining pavilion offering views of Lake Carolyn
A covered, open-air corridor links the two towers, enticing employees to outdoor gathering areas or directing them through a park-like covered skybridge leading to the 4,000-space parking garage.
A New Kind of Campus
The Wells Fargo regional campus is a unique facility dedicated to efficiency, sustainability, and employee satisfaction, with the goal of enhancing customer service. KDC is honored to have partnered with Wells Fargo and its project partners on this prototype property.
